Fisheries (Aquarium)

The fisheries museum hosts 350 species of marine life. It showcases specimens of various aquatic creatures from small fishes to big sharks and whales. A variety of shells, corals and skeletal remains of marine creatures are displayed at the museum. The remains and samples are preserved in glass and chemicals and it is advisable not to touch any of the items displayed in the museum. The museum is open from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM & 02:00 PM to 04:45 PM and the entry closes at 04:00 PM It is closed on all Mondays and is located near the Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex.

Naval Marine Museum (Samudrika)

It hosts a collection of shells, fossils, corals, and a few varieties of colorful fishes of the sea that are found around the islands. It is well maintained and is run by the Indian Navy. It has five wings covering the history, geography, marine life, and anthropology of Andaman Island. The museum is open on all days from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM except on Mondays.

Zonal Anthropological Museum

The Zonal Anthropological museum has a display of life and culture and of the indigenous Andaman tribes. It showcases the tools, garments, handicrafts, art & crafts, pictures, and other tribal items. Predominantly the 6 tribes who have resided on this island ages ago and how they still live aloof from the rest of the world. Since the tribes of the Andaman are preserved by the Andaman administration, one cannot visit the Islands where these 6 tribes reside. However, this museum is the perfect place to know the lives and history of these tribes. The museum timings are from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM & 01:30 PM to 04:30 PM on all days except on Mondays & Government holidays.

Kalapani Museum

Though it is a privately owned museum, it has exhibited the history through photos, paintings & models. A short film on Veer Savarkar is played at the end of the museum tour. It holds a significant history of the British Rule and Japanese possession during World War II. Open on all days, the museum is open from 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM.

Science Center

Science center is suitable to keep the school going children fascinated.
It is a place of fun-filled learning, with a playground with little slides and swings for kids. It is a place that makes science and learning an element of fun and surprise. You also get to do some live experiments to learn about physics and optical illusions. It is on the way to Corbyn’s Cove Beach and is open from 10 AM to 5.30 PM except on Mondays.

Chatham Saw Mill

The Chatham Saw Mill is one of the oldest and the largest operational sawmill in Asia. The Chatham Saw Mill has its historical importance and the thing that differentiates it from other museums is that it is excellent in Wood, Art & Culture. While visiting the sawmill, you get to see how the trees are cut into logs and wooden planks. It is located at Chatham Island and can be reached via road. The mill is open from 8 AM to 2 PM except on Sundays.

Sagarika Emporium

Sagarika Emporium brings together the best of handicrafts culture from different islands of Andaman. You can buy handmade products of coconut shells, wood, seashells, and bamboo here. But keep in mind that they are very strict on the pricing and do not entertain bargaining. Rates are very low as this is a government enterprise. It is open from 9 AM to 7 PM.
